NAADAC sponsored a webinar featuring Dr. Marlene Maheu this past week to address member questions about telehealth and e-therapy. If you missed the live event, but want to know more about NAADAC’s interest in and ethical code for addressing telehealth in its ranks of addictions professionals, you may be interested in listening to the On-Demand recording of 7 Ways to Legally and Ethically Expand Your Services with Evidence-Based Telehealth. Several of the new NAADAC ethics code sections related to telehealth and e-therapy were cited and explained in the presentation. NAADAC also is offering 1.5 hours of CE credit with this program for those professional’s whose state boards allow such credit hours to apply for state licensure renewal.
NAADAC and Telemental Health Institute / Telebehavioral Health Institute
As you may be aware, NAADAC approved the Telemental Health Institute / Telebehavioral Health Institute (TMHI/TBHI) as a CE sponsor in 2016, making all of the TBHI courses and certifications eligible for NAADAC-approved CE hours. See that approval explained here. In the image to the left, you will also see the official certificate issued to TMHI upon approval by NAADAC. We are proud to be considered an approved training facility by NAADAC. TMHI / TBHI has been invited to offer a full-day workshop related to telehealth as a pre-conference event prior to the annual NAADAC conference, themed Elevate Your Practice, which will take place in Denver, CO at the Denver Marriott Tech Center from September 22-26, 2017. Registration is now open.
The Best Practices workshop will focus on best practices, and will give you a solid grasp of the evidence-base, as well as the underlying legal and ethical issues involved in getting started and thriving online. We expect a full house, so get your ticket early! TBHI will also have a booth at this meeting and is looking for a booth assistant. Any TMHI / TBHI graduate of the TMHI / TBHI Level-II Certificate training program is invited to apply.
