Core Telebehavioral Health Institute Faculty

  • Marlene M. Maheu, Ph.D. is the Founder of the Telebehavioral Health Institute, Inc. and has served as its Executive Director since 2009. She has served more than a dozen professional association committees, task forces and work groups to develop the ethical policy for telehealth across disciplines. Most recently, she was the Chair of the Telebehavioral Health Competency Task Force for the Coalition for Technology in Behavioral Science (CTiBS) and lead author of the published telebehavioral health competencies.
  • Joseph P. McMenamin, MD JD is a physician-turned-lawyer who assists telehealth practitioners to recognize and diminish legal risks.
  • Myron Pulier, M.D. was the co-founder of the TeleMental Health Institute (precursor to the Telebehavioral Health Institute). He has been a Board Certified psychiatrist since the early 1970s.

Graduate Program Faculty

  • Kenneth Drude, Ph.D. has a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Illinois. He provides outpatient psychological services in a general private practice near Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Drude has clinical and administrative experience in providing mental health services in small and large mental health centers, a nursing home facility, children and adult hospitals and the education and training of psychology graduate students.
  • Shawna Wright, Ph.D., LP is a licensed psychologist in Kansas and Nebraska. Her clinical training focused on child and family treatment, and she has a background in community mental health. She currently works in private practice as a telepsychologist.

  • Joe Bavonese, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist, and Director of the Relationship Institute with three offices in southeastern Michigan. Joe is also the Co-Director of Uncommon Practices, which helps private practitioners create their ideal practice through consultation, webinars and live workshops.Pamela Forducey, Ph.D., ABPP is a licensed psychologist at Integris Health, Oklahoma.
  • Mary Bradshaw, Ed.D. is a seasoned Mental Health Therapist, demonstrating expertise and broad ranging experience in planning and providing holistic individual and family therapy services with specialization in Trauma, PTSD, Crisis Intervention, Addictions, Depression, Duel Diagnosis, Suicide Survivor Grief and Loss, Military Life/ Military Family Reintegration, and Special Needs Children and Adults.   • Keely Kolmes, Psy.D. is a San Francisco-based Psychologist. She is on the CPA Ethics Committee and is most known for her internationally cited Social Media Policy, her post-treatment client satisfaction survey (Getting Better), and for her nationwide CE courses on Digital and Social Media ethics.
  • Timothy Lacy, MD served as the Air Force Chief of Telemedicine, Imaging, and Cybermedicine for the USAF Surgeon General from 2005-2010.

  • Mindy Mueller, Psy.D. received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch New England Graduate School, her Master’s in Counseling Psychology at Boston College, and her Master’s in Child and Family Development at Syracuse University.
  • Christa M. Natoli is the Director for the Center for Telehealth & e-Health Law. She will address multi-disciplinary licensing issues.
  • Eve-Lynn Nelson, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who served as co-chair for the writing of the American Telemedicine Association’s Telehealth Guidelines.
  • Les Posen is an Australian Psychologist, anxiety management specialist and Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society.
  • Dawn Sampson, LCSW received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare from California State University, Long Beach, her Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, and she is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in California (lic. # LCS23139).
  • Jill Mestel Squyres, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist in Texas and Colorado and has been in private practice since 2002.
  • René Y. Quashie, JD is a legal and regulatory attorney for the Center for Telehealth & e-Health Law.
  • Carolyn Turvey, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Her specialty areas are mood disorders and neuropsychology.
