Questions to be Addressed at this Exciting Therapist AI and ChatGPT Ethics Event
- What are AI and ChatGPT? How are they being used to help healthcare practices thrive with less effort and at lower costs?
- Most agree that providers should obtain client consent to use AI. But what information should providers disclose?
- AI relies on Big Data. Under the law and professional ethics, what precautions must providers take to protect client privacy?
- What professional and product liability risks attend AI in healthcare? How can one reduce them?
- Do AI systems practice psychology, e.g.? Do they need a license to do so? If not, will the public be protected from conduct that, if performed by a human, would result in disciplinary action?
- Few regulations currently govern AI in healthcare. Is that how things ought to be? If not, what agencies should have authority, and which regulations would make sense?
- To what extent, if any, will third-party payers bear AI’s costs?
- Who owns the data upon which Ai and ChatGPT are trained? Who owns the intellectual property it generates?
- There is much concern about AI bias and its implications for the availability, quality, and cost of care. Are those concerns justified? Can we decrease AI bias to the point that it becomes a non-issue?
- Finally, might the need for humans trained to care for MH patients disappear someday? If so, should we try to prevent that?
