Dr. West-Olatunji shares her insightful perspective on changes that need to be considered by all mental health professionals to survive and thrive in these uncertain times. She explains integrated care, patient centered care, and the role of technology in behavioral health care. Together Dr. West-Olatunji and Dr. Maheu discuss the changes that will be required for current training programs to equip graduates to enter a more interdisciplinary and holistic world of mental health care.

Marlene M. Maheu, PhD, founder of TeleMental Health Institute, Inc., is recognized as one of the leading experts in telepractice. She is the originator of the Online Clinical Practice Model (OCPM) for ethical telemental health, telepsychiatry, telepsychology, distance counseling and online therapy (telepractice).

Cirecie West-Olatunji, PhD, President of the American Counseling Association, is a staunch supporter of counseling and technology. Through her ACA Presidency, she’s seen where technology plays a significant role in Health Care Reform. She encourages those counselors interested in working with technology and distance counseling to to get trained and get involved to bring counseling into a leadership role with related legal, ethical and clinical services.
